In the space of 3 weeks between the end of the cricket season and the start of the 2019 AFL season Glass100 transformed the balustrading in the Victory Lounge at Optus Stadium. The project encompassed the removal of the existing frame supported glass balustrade and installing the replacement High Specification Frameless Glass Balustrade.

Some Key Points

– Over 3 tonnes of glass, fittings and fixing compound was used
– All concrete walls were scanned prior to panel design to ensure fixing points missed structural reinforcement bars within the concrete
– The glass is 26.52mm thick Ultra Clear, Heat Soaked, Toughened, Laminate and is engineered to withstand “Crowd Crush” forces
– Individual glass panels weigh up to 143kg
– A large portion of the works were completed out of hours to minimise venue disruption
– A month after being awarded the contract the project was complete
