How do I know if my cat needs a cat door?

They’re an “Outside Cat”

Many pet owners have “outside” cats. These kitties wander the outdoors, the backyard, and come home to snuggle, play, and eat. If your feline is a wanderer, then a cat door would be a great addition to your home. Your pet is sure to love it!

They’re an “Indoor/Outdoors” Cat

Maybe your kitty likes the outdoors, but also wants to spend a lot of time inside with you. These kitties are often referred to as “Indoor/Outdoors” cats, and they split their time between the inside and outside. Note that these cats are indoors much more often than “Outside” cats.

They’re Curious About the Outdoors

Maybe your cat is primarily an indoor cat, but they love watching birds out the window, or have tried to go outside when you’ve left the door open a few times. If you’ve got an enclosed backyard or patio, this could be the perfect chance to let kitty roam the outdoors safely, at their own pace.

Are cat doors safe for cats?

The custom cat doors made by Glass100 are totally safe for your beloved kitty.

Your and your pet’s safety and security are our highest concerns. You can expect excellence from the Glass100 team – we go above and beyond to apply industry best standards for the manufacture and installation of dog doors, cat doors, and cat flaps. All installations are 100% compliant with the requirements of Australian Standard AS1288.

Remember, to reduce the risk of fleas, veterinarians recommend you keep your cat inside as much as possible. But when you can, let them outside to enjoy a little sunshine, fresh air, and exercise!

Please make sure to watch your cat when outdoors and/or only allow them outside in enclosed, safe areas. Keep your pets inside if they are not yet spayed or neutered.

How are cat doors different than dog doors?

Technically they aren’t that different, but cat doors are usually smaller than doggy doors.

Can my dog use cat doors?

It depends on the size of your dog. Some tiny dogs can indeed use cat doors, but please make sure to measure your pet before assuming they will fit through the door!
